Plant Based Decadent Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies


I am so hyped to share this recipe with you! I literally tested it out so many times to make sure I got every detail right and lemme tell ya, I’m in love!

These cookies are chewy, chocolatey, and oh-soooo addicting! (Just ask my boyfriend Rob) 

They’re made from oat flour, rolled oats, sweetened only with molasses and real maple syrup, and are dairy-free! They also have a hearty helping of Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts for some added protein and omega 3 & 6. Make sure you’re using gluten free oat flour and rolled oats to ensure your cookies are gluten free. As for chocolate chips, I like to use Enjoy Life Chocolate Chips!

Oh, and did I mention they’re completely plant-based? You wouldn’t even notice the difference! 

I like to roll my cookies out into smaller sizes so I can snack on them as I please *wink wink* but if you prefer large cookies you can definitely make them to match your mood! 

Plant Based Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies with Hemp Seeds 

  • 1 1/2cup oat flour 

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats 

  • 1/2 cup coconut oil (melted) 

  • 1/2 cup almond milk 

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips 

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda 

  • 2 tbsp Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts

  • 2 tbsp almond butter 

  • 2 tbsp fancy molasses 

  • 2 tbsp real maple syrup 

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • Pinch of salt

  1. In a large mixing bowl stir together all dry ingredients with a wooden spoon. 

  2. In a separate bowl, mix all wet ingredients together. The coconut oil may begin to harden when it comes in contact with cold ingredients. Simply stick into the microwave for 10 seconds or until all is melted. 

  3. With your wooden spoon, combine dry and wet ingredients together. Mix well. If your mixture is too dry, add a splash or two of almond milk if needed. 

  4. Once combined, add in your chocolate chips. Stir together

  5. Pour out your mixture onto cling wrap, parchment paper, or reusable wraps and wrap up in a dough ball. Chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes to an hour. This step is crucial for proper baking 

  6. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees celsius 

  7. Once chilled, roll out your dough into tbsp sized balls and place them onto a parchment lined baking tray.

  8. Once the dough is all rolled out, press the dough balls down into flat cookies. Do not press them too thin. You can use your fingers for this, or even the bottom of a glass. 

  9. Bake your cookies for 20 - 25 minutes or until the bottoms are browning. 

  10. Once done, remove from the oven and set aside to cool
