Now I know winter isn’t over yet, in fact we haven’t even had a taste of spring, but at this time of the year I always get anxious and crave that summertime sunshine. Luckily I am a photographer and have a whole archive of photos to look back on when I need a little extra taste of summer. While looking back on these photos I realized I had never really shared these images before! Thus, this little post was born - so I hope you enjoy this mini guide of places to visit in Ontario this summer, and I hope to get out more this year to explore more of what Ontario has to show us!

In Ontario, we are lucky enough to get to experience so many seasonal changes which opens up major opportunity to experience things like hiking, camping, canoeing, swimming, skiing, skating, snowmobiling, etc… but my all time favourite season to get out in explore in Ontario hands down has to be the summer months!

One of the most beautiful places I’ve been to in Ontario are these expansive sunflower fields in the rural parts of the GTA. The photos don’t do these fields justice, as the flowers spread as far as your eyes can see and paint a beautiful yellow hue all across the scape.

Unfortunately the specific location where we took these photos is no longer open to the public (practice safe selfies people…) but there are other locations in Ontario that are better equipped to handle a large amount of visitors! I have also included some from our trip to the Terre Bleu Lavender Farm, where at the end of the summer they also have a beautiful sunflower field.

Terre Bleu Lavender Farm - They also have a gorgeous sunflower field

Davis Feed & Farm Supply - Located in Caledon, they have a great field as well!

Almost every summer our family visits Sauble Beach in Bruce County and it’s honestly my all time favourite beach destination. The town has such a sweet vibe and some great thrifting and shopping opportunities! There are many rental cottages around the town so I’m sure you could easily book in the area. The beach itself can be crowded at times, but we always have a great time whenever we go - I mean, look at that gorgeous sunset!

Now I can’t make this post without including my all time favourite place to visit in Ontario - Muskoka! Muskoka is huge and has so many beautiful lakes and provincial parks for you to visit with your friends and family, not to mention the huge rental cottage opportunities in the summer. You’ll definitely want to start looking into booking your trip up north now!

I definitely recommend visiting the towns in Muskoka like Huntsville, Bracebridge, Gravenhurt and Port Carling to start! Oh, and don’t forget about visiting Muskoka Brewery or Muskoka Roastery while you’re there!
